Volunteer Training Centers

All of Ananda Marga activities are managed by a dedicated group of non-salaried volunteers. There are different levels of volunteers. Some are lifetime workers as in the case of the order of monks and nuns. Others are temporary volunteers in the case of unmarried youths. Still others are part-time volunteers such as lay people who spare time from their work and families to help the organization.

The monks and nuns undergo thorough training at the SE Asian training center headquarter in Davao, Philippines. The training center prepares candidates for the challenging and noble work as servants of humanity. Trainees are taught the yogic disciplines, yogic philosophy and yogic practices which will carry them through the difficult life of a missionary worker. Separate accommodation is provided for men and women who as future monks and nuns will be expected to observe vows of renunciation, service and sacrifice (read more).
